This route is perfect for introducing a new rider to mountain biking. It's a simple out and back trail. Very little altitude gain and mostly smooth double track. On the return trip you can optionally choose to try Coyote run which is a simple single track, again excellent for the first timer.
- Directions:
- Starting at the main entrance, ride to the beginning of Wood Canyon. Ride up through the canyon past the sycamore grove. A few hundred feet past the sycamore grove is the base of Coyote Run. Make a left through the creek and follow the single track as it parallels the creek and finally connects to the end of Mathis Trail. Make a left through the creek and then a quick right back onto Wood Canyon Road.
